Location

Zürich is the largest city in Switzerland with about 1 million people in the greater Zürich area, of which about 370,000 live in the city. Home to the country's largest airport with numerous international connections, Zürich is Switzerland's main commercial and industrial center.

ETH Zürich is the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zürich, Switzerland, and one of Europe's premier universities in the fields of Chemistry, Physics, Electrical Engineering, and Computer Science.

Venue and Travel Information

The symposium will take place in the main building (HG) of ETH Zürich: the morning sessions in the AudiMax auditorium (room HG F30), and the afternoon sessions in room HG E3.

The ETH main building is located at Raemistrasse 5, just in front of the tram stop ETH/Universitätspital. To get there from the main train station Zürich HB, you can take the tram number 10 (direction: Flughafen or Bahnhof Oerlikon) from Bahnhofplatz/HB. Alternatively, you can take tram number 6 (direction: Zoo) from stop Central (you have to cross the Bahnhofbrücke bridge) or from stop Bahnhofstrasse/HB (located on Bahnhofstrasse).

Below is a (non-exhaustive!) list of hotels within walking distance of the symposium venue. Note that the rates are only indicative, and may have changed since we checked them.

The following hotels offer the possibility of cheaper rates, but are a bit further away (they are both close to Zürich-Hardbrücke, which is one stop away from Zürich HB on the S-Bahn network):

Meals and Refreshments

Registration includes two coffee breaks, lunch, and an evening apéro. Information will be provided in your registration pack.
